Paper is my medium. Order and rhythm are my method.
My works are created at the interface of drawing, painting, and sculpture – with paper as the central material. In addition to classic materials such as colored ink, acrylic, and spray paint, I also use unusual found objects: interestingly punched cardboard boxes from the supermarket, coffee as a painting medium, or objects such as dog bones and walnut shells that serve as stencils. Serial structures and rhythmic repetitions exert a particular fascination. Using stencils and monotypes – often printed using drinking glasses or plastic cups – I create compositions that vary through chance and processing. Identical forms shift, overlap, and are rhythmically arranged. "Errors" that arise during the work process are consciously incorporated. The motifs of the works revolve around everyday observations from urban spaces: people and nature interacting, captured in photographic moments or inspired by fleeting impressions such as cloud formations in the sky or graphically interesting details, e.g., the view from above of parked trucks in a parking lot. This creates a complex interplay between order and chance, between documented reality and abstracted structure. An important part of my artistic practice is collaborating with other artists. Collaborative projects open up new perspectives and enable the exchange of different approaches. Openness to experimentation is also evident in my exploration of new technologies: In addition to analogue processes, I am always open to exploring the possibilities of digital media, for example through 3D drawings with VR headsets, which allow the experience of space as an extension of the drawing.
